Anterior Porcelain Restorations

POST-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS

You may experience soreness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site. Avoid hot liquids and be cautious not to bite your lip, cheek, or tongue while the numbness is still present.

Gums can be sore or tender. Warm and gentle salt water swishes (up to 3x a day) can help accelerate healing and soothe them.

Avoid crunchy, spicy, acidic, very hot/cold foods and liquids for 48 hours after your procedure.

Once numbing has worn off, please let us know if your bite feels off so we can adjust it. This will not resolve on its own and can cause discomfort and weakening of the temporaries.

While you have temporary restorations in place, please avoid eating sticky or crunchy foods, and refrain from using your front teeth to bite or chew hard foods.

Given that your multiple temporaries are attached as one unit, you will be unable to floss between the teeth. We suggest using oral irrigation to support tissue health during this time.

Should your temporary come loose or break, please notify us immediately by calling 303.779.9472.

Once the soreness has eased, you can resume your normal brushing and flossing habits. In the interim, please be extra gentle around the restoration sites.

While in temporary restorations, it is essential to provide us with your feedback regarding cosmetic preferences and functionality, including aspects like eating and speaking. This is typically addressed during your follow-up appointment.

During this temporary period, it is prudent to avoid foods and drinks that are known to cause stains. It is particularly recommended to steer clear of items containing yellow mustard or turmeric.

While in temporaries, you may experience some tooth sensitivity to temperature changes. Taking Tylenol or Advil can help relieve any discomfort you may encounter.

After the placement of the permanent restorations, Please avoid chewing for 30 minutes unless directed otherwise.

Following the placement of the permanent restoration, you may experience some soreness while chewing and sensitivity to cold for the initial few days. If these symptoms continue beyond two weeks without any signs of improvement, a follow-up appointment may be necessary.

Feel free to reach out to us via call or text at 303.779.9472 if you have any questions or concerns.
